Shared Unmetered - Explained
Servers on Ubiquity's 100Mbit Shared Unmetered network can enjoy value efficiencies of an intentionally oversold environment (a very different solution from our 'dedicated unmetered' servers). While not recommended for quality-critical applications such as gaming and VoIP, shared unmetered environments may be an acceptable solution for applications needing high bandwidth with little sensitivity to packet loss or guaranteed network availability.
Bandwidth on the 100Mbit shared unmetered network is NOT guaranteed (as network availability is shared, not dedicated to the subscriber's server). As a guideline, customers under this plan may expect 1500GB-3000GB/monthly throughput on outbound transfer (from the server to the internet) and up to 20TB/monthly throughput on inbound transfer (from the internet to the server).
Shared unmetered servers encounter no overage fees, but in the event of very high sustained utilization, customers may in rare cases be kindly asked to upgrade to a dedicated unmetered environment where the resources required for their application can be adequately provided, without compromising the shared network environment.
